Wayne W. Volbrecht, 89, of Lake Geneva, went to heaven on Jan. 5, 2023. Wayne was born in Kenosha County on Dec. 20, 1933 to Walter and Agnes (nee Shepstone) Volbrecht, He served his country honorably in the United States Army during the Korean War. On Feb. 8, 1958, he was united in marriage with Donna Woyak in Lyons. They were one month away from celebrating their 65th wedding anniversary. Wayne and Donna raised eight boys in the Kenosha County area. He worked as a masonry contractor and owned his own business, Volbrecht and Sons Masonry, for over 40 years.
Wayne was a charter member of the Silver Lake VFW and served his community for over 20 years with the Wheatland Volunteer Fire Department. In his free time, he enjoyed camping, water fighting, playing cards, golfing on Father’s Day, and bowling. He was a big fan of classic County Western music. Above all else, Wayne loved spending time with his large family and truly enjoyed being a grandfather and great-grandfather.
Wayne is survived by his wife, Donna Volbrecht; his sons, Greg (Debbie), Jeff (Marlo), Kent (Sheryl), Troy (Joelle), Lance (Dawn), Rodney, Brett (Christine), and Shad Volbrecht; grandchildren, Payden, Taylor, Tina, Chelsea, Lynsea, McKensea, Kyle, Lexi, Nick, Nathan, Nick W., Gabrielle, Troy, Sarah, Rafal, Kacper, Luke, Louis, Mason, Marshall, Megan, Catherine, and Jesstys; great-grandchildren, Liam, Anika, Joscelyn, Kayne, Kidon, Jaci, Spencer, Sadie, Nixie, Connor, Luella, Landon, Reece, Lilyen, Lionel, Preslie, James, Layla, Alidia, Jaslyn, Gabriel, Isaac, Caiden, Mia, David, and two great-grandbabies on the way; brother, Orval (Jane) Volbrecht; as well as many nieces and nephews.
In death, Wayne is reunited with his parents, Walter and Agnes Volbrecht; brothers, Robert and Wendolyn (June) Volbrecht; three nieces; one nephew; two sisters-in-law; two brothers-in-law; and his parents-in-law.
A memorial service with military and fireman’s honors was held on Wednesday, Jan. 11, 2023 at 6 p.m. at Haase-Lockwood & Associates Funeral Home, 620 Legion Drive, Twin Lakes. Online condolences may be made at haaselockwoodfhs.com.
