William J. Brehm passed away on Friday, May 12, 2023, at age 84.
William was born on June 1, 1938, to George and Regina (nee Schoenberg) Brehm. He was united in marriage to Thelma Albrecht in June of 1959. They were married for 52 years until Thelma’s death in April of 2012.
William worked at Asplundh Tree Expert Company for 42 years before he retired. He was a proud veteran and served in the National Guard. He was passionate about volunteering with the Special Olympics. He enjoyed making and selling fireplace wood, hunting, and fishing; he cherished his fishing trips he would take with Thelma before her passing.
William is survived by his children, David (Lisa), Doug (Kim), and Linda; grandchildren, Jennifer, Serra, Shawn, and Tyler (Brianna); great grandchildren, Penelope and Marlene; sister, Betty (Monty); nieces Michelle (Bill), Bridgette (Ken) and Tina (Jake); and nephews, Kevin (Karen), and Jess (Holly).
He is preceded in death by his daughter, Louann; grandson, Jacob; and siblings, Robert and Judy.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to The Special Olympics.
The family would like to thank the wound care staff at Burlington Hospital and the VA of Union Grove.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, June 3 from 9 to 11:30 a.m. at Schuette Daniels Funeral Home. Graveside prayers will be at noon at St. Charles Cemetery.
