ALAN L. ROSENOW

Alan L. Rosenow, 73, of Union Grove, passed away Tuesday, July 2, 2024 at his home.

Born in Sparta on March 17, 1951, he was the son of Eldor and Lorraine (nee Thompson) Rosenow. His early life was spent in Union Grove, where he graduated from Union Grove High School, Class of 1969. He served in the US Navy from 1971 until 1972 as a radio operator. Alan worked and retired as a pipe fitter for United Mechanical after 30 years and was a member of the Local 118 Pipe Fitter’s Union. He was an avid Green Bay Packer and Wisconsin Badger fan. Growing up, he enjoyed the outdoors with his family along with many trips around the United States and Canada.

In 1968, Al spotted the love of his life, Carol, walking down the street in Union Grove and told his friends he was going to marry her. She eventually relented and they were united in marriage at North Cape Lutheran Church on June 23, 1973. They spent the early years of their relationship enjoying boating, fishing and camping with their families, including several more trips to Canada. Carol and Al bought their first home and started their family in 1978. It is there where many life-long friendships were made. While he had many accomplishments, his most cherished was the installation of his pool and deck, which has been enjoyed by neighbors, family, friends and co-workers over the past 40 years. He enjoyed nothing more than spending time at the pool and entertaining anyone who would stop by to visit, have a beer, share a story and definitely share a few laughs.

Alan is survived by his wife, Carol; children, Matthew (Pam Taylor) Rosenow and Erika Rosenow; grandchildren, Chase, Faith and Kalibur; and sister, Bonnie (Earl) Jackley. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Kenneth Rosenow; brothers-in-law, Richard Olson and Jim Jackley; nephew, Evan Rosenow; and close family friend, Sean Baumeister.

The family would like to thank the Union Grove-Yorkville Fire Dept. for their care over the years and request that in lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to them.

A burial for Al will take place on Tuesday, July 23, 2024 at 11 a.m. at Southern WI Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery. A celebration of life will be held at Old Settler’s Inn in Union Grove following the burial.
