Cheryl J. Kerkman, 77, of Burlington passed away at Pine Brook Pointe on Friday, Oct. 11, 2024, surrounded by family.
Cheryl was born on Feb. 14, 1947, in Kenosha to Verner and Myrtle (nee Greisen) Erickson. She grew up in Kenosha and graduated from Westosha Central High School. On Aug. 10, 1968, she was united in marriage to Keith Kerkman at St. Alphonsus Church in New Munster. Following marriage, they made their home on the family farm in Wheatland.
Cheryl was an office manager for Kerkman Brothers Construction. She was a member of St. Alphonsus Catholic Church. She loved quilting, doing puzzles, and especially enjoyed watching Packer games. Most of all she loved her family and spending time with them.
Cheryl is survived by her husband Keith; children, Karen (Bob) Fliess, Michelle (Dan) Steffens, and Brian (Shelly Cooper) Kerkman; seven grandchildren, Kelsey (Kevin), Lauren (Ron), Robert, Morgan (Christian), Justin (Paytin), Carson and Brenton (Rachel); 12 great-grandchildren; sisters, Ruth, Judy, and Jan; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Cheryl is preceded in death by her parents and sibling, Vern, Bud, Arlene, and Lorraine.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Gentiva Hospice and Pine Brook Pointe Assisted Living for the outstanding and loving care they gave Cherie.
Memorials have been suggested to the American Breast Cancer Society, and St. Jude’s Children Hospital.
A Private Family Service will be held. Burial will take place at St. Alphonsus Catholic Cemetery.
