CHRISTOPHER E. KORMAN

Christopher E. Korman, 60, of Waterford, passed away unexpectedly of natural causes in his home on Friday, Nov. 29, 2024.

Chris was born to Gilbert and Irene (nee Buckner) Korman in Sumner, Iowa on May 27, 1964. He spent his early life in Waterford, graduating from Waterford Union High School in 1982, before enlisting in the U.S. Army.

Chris was stationed in Bayreuth, Germany for 18 months. He returned home briefly to marry his love Anne Uhen on June 8, 1985, then they returned to Germany together. The newlyweds traveled the countryside on weekends to visit little towns, castles and even took a four-day trip to Amsterdam. The couple later moved to Kentucky, where Chris was stationed at Ft. Knox, attaining the rank of sergeant until he was honorably discharged in October 1986.

Chris and Anne moved back home to start their family and built a house in Rochester in 1992. Chris earned his associate’s degree and worked to become a Master Plumber. He started his business, Korman Plumbing in 2005, which is now in its second generation.

He enjoyed golfing, playing softball, snowmobiling, taking his family camping, coaching his boys’ teams, cheering them on at UW-Parkside Rangers baseball games (Ben), fishing tournaments (Zac), and at UW-Warhawk baseball games (Matthew). He was a proud sponsor of the Pipelayers softball team that consisted of his three sons and most of his nephews. He loved baseball, especially the New York Yankees and Milwaukee Brewers, but he was happiest cheering on the Waterford Rivermen, Waterford’s hometown team. He also loved watching his grandchildren grow. He was a very proud husband, father and grandpa. He was his family’s biggest supporter.

Christopher is survived by his father, Gilbert; wife, Anne; children, Zachary, Benjamin (Melanie) and Matthew (Kiley); grandchildren, Sydney, Madelyn, Levi, Quinn and Baylor; brother, Calvin (Susan); along with many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was loved by many in the community.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Irene; mother-in-law, Elizabeth Uhen; and grandson, Keegan.

Memorials may be made to the family or in his name to Wounded Warriors Association.

A Celebration of Life for Christopher will be held on Wednesday Dec. 11, 2024, at Noon at Schuette Daniels Funeral Home. Private burial will be at the Southern Wisconsin Veterans Cemetery.
