CONNIE J. RUSK

Connie J. Rusk, 73, of Kansasville, danced her way into her Savior’s loving arms on Tuesday, Sept. 24, 2024.

Born in Racine, on Sept. 14, 1951, Connie was the daughter of G. Robert and Carole (nee Kastenson) Bonner. Her early life was spent on the farm, collecting eggs and working with her mother for Kackle Korners. She attended Sunnyside Elementary, Waterford Union High School and UW-Stevens Point. On Aug. 30, 1975, at Raymond Baptist Church, she was united in marriage to Andy Rusk. Following marriage, they resided in Burlington before moving to a small farm in Kansasville where they have resided and raised their children and grandchildren for the last 37 years.

Connie worked at Tripco Travel and enjoyed traveling the world. She continued her career at The Racine Journal Times and Kerry Food, Inc. Her customers and coworkers loved her fun, joyful, personality. Her most important job was being a loving wife, mother and grandmother. The heart of her home was her kitchen. It was open to all. Her farm table overflowed with love, laughter, joy and great food.

Connie was an active member of Raymond Christian Fellowship being involved in Women with a Mission, AWANA and Operation Christmas Child. Singing the Old Hymns brought her peace and happiness. She was proud of showing her antiques at the Racine County Fair and was an active fair goer her entire life. She proudly watched her grandchildren show at the fair. Connie was an avid Brewer and Green Bay Packers fan. She burned the midnight oil shopping with her daughters. She enjoyed gardening, canning, and cooking with her children and grandchildren. She never missed a grandchild’s sporting events. She was always their loudest fan cheering them on. She was a caring, loving and selfless person.

Connie is survived by her husband, Andy; children, Rebecca (Chris Zabielski) Rusk, Andrew Rusk, Heidi (Mark) Dahl and Kimberly (Nick) Duesing; grandchildren, Kaleb, Grace and Sawyer Zabielski, Clayton, Haven, Lauren and Katelyn Dahl, and Ryder and Kinsley Duesing; siblings Robert (Terri) Bonner; and in-laws, Deni Vanderwerff, Kevan (Connie) Rusk, Stacy (Frank) Brinkman, Kerry (Dustin) Ludke and Larry Kraimer.
