David E. Hess, of Burlington, passed away Saturday, Dec. 14, 2024. He was born in Racine on May 9, 1941 to Florence and Earl Hess.
Dave graduated high school in 1959 from St. John’s Military Academy and then went onto Milton College.
His early career was spent at Case Corporation. Over 44 years ago he started Creative Brick and Concrete/Gift Bricks with his wife.
Dave is survived by his wife of 60 years, Gloria; his daughter Dr. Gretchen Hess; grandchildren Tavia, Tasha, Kasia and Kaian Turzanski; sisters Shera (Kent) Eddy of Littleton, Colorado and Lou Ellen (Ed) Benter of Fox Lake; and six nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his son, David Hess Jr., brother-in-law Donald E Davis, sister Pam Hess and many aunts and uncles.
Dave was a courageous man who survived esophageal cancer and lived many years with Parkinson’s disease.
There will be a celebration of Dave’s life in the spring of 2025 at St. John’s Northwestern Academies in Delafield.
