EDWARD E. HEGEMANN

      Edward E. Hegemann, formerly of Lyons, passed away on Sept. 22, 2024 at West Los Angeles VA Medical Center in Los Angeles.

Edward was born on Feb. 19, 1948 in Milwaukee and was the beloved son of Raymond and Marie (Flach) Hegemann and dear brother to his sister, Judy. Edward and his family moved from Wauwatosa to Lyons when he was 12 years old. He attended St. Joseph’s Grade School in Lyons and Burlington High School, Class of 1966. Shortly after high school graduation, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy and served on board the USS Mataco during the Vietnam War and the recovery of the USS Cole.

After being honorably discharged from the Navy, he headed to Texas and eventually moved to California, where he spent the rest of his life. Edward was a proud member of the Screen Actors Guild, performed in several movies and worked in security for entertainment venues, including the Hollywood Bowl, in his retirement years. He enjoyed fishing off the Santa Monica Pier. His friends referred to him as Captain.

Edward is survived by his sister Judy, Judy’s husband Don, two nieces, a nephew, and many cousins in Wisconsin. He was preceded in death by his parents, aunts and uncles He was interred in a private ceremony at National Cemetery in Riverside, California.
