FERRISLYNN SCARLET BOYA

      Ferrislynn Scarlet Boya, 79, of Waterford, passed away peacefully on Aug. 8, 2024, at the Aurora Medical Center in Burlington, surrounded by her loving family following a short, courageous battle with cancer.

Born on March 26, 1945, in Duluth, Minnesota, Ferrislynn was the daughter of the late Onni and Phyllis Dewar Mackey.

Ferrislynn married her sweetheart, James W Boya in 1963 in Duluth. Together they raised three children and enjoyed a life full of adventure, travel and love. Ferris was a talented artist who loved to draw and paint. She also enjoyed gardening, sewing and home decorating.

Ferris is survived by her husband of 61 years, James; her children, Traci of California and Julie (David) of Muskego; her grandchildren Andrew, Alissa, Samantha and Mandi; two great grandchildren; her sisters Elizabeth of Los Angeles, Daryl of Duluth, and Kimberly (John) of Duluth, her brother Budd (Donna) of Vancouver, Washington, and many nieces and nephews.

Ferrislynn was preceded in death by her son James Michael Boya.

An open house celebration of Ferrislynn’s life will be held on Sept. 21, 2024, at Integrity celebration center, 2789 Browns Lake Dr., Burlington, from 2 until 4:30 p.m.

Ferrislynn’s kindness, generosity, and compassion touched the lives of many. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends and all who knew her.
