Linda A. Harris, a long-time resident of Burlington, passed away on Jan. 14, 2024, at Janesville Memorial Hospital. She was 74 years old.
Linda was born in Reedsburg to Harry and Gladys Clanigan. Her childhood was filled with joy and adventure on a farm in LaValle, where she and her two sisters shared many fond memories of having attended a small one-room school. Later, Linda’s family relocated to Lake Geneva, where she completed her education at Badger High School in 1967.
Linda and her loving husband, Greg, of almost 51 years, raised two sons, Chad and Kurt, who brought immense pride and joy to her heart. She excelled in the secretarial field, leaving a lasting impact with her professionalism and dedication.
She and her husband enjoyed spending vacations up north with their sons, as well as fishing and boating on Lake Owen in Cable. She enjoyed canning fruit and vegetables from their garden, continuing the tradition of her mother.
Linda will be dearly missed and forever remembered by her devoted husband Greg, and her loving son, Kurt. She leaves behind her cherished sister, Gloria Baumann, brother-in-law Darrel Merath, nephew Jason (Robin) Merath, niece Shannon Merath, mother-in-law Lois Harris, sister-in-law Shawn Harris, brother-in-law Trent (Lisa) Harris, and numerous other relatives and friends, who were touched by her warmth and kindness.
Linda was preceded in death by her parents, her beloved son Chad, sister Brenda Merath, and father-in-law James Harris.
May Linda’s spirit continue to shine brightly in our hearts, forever reminding us of the love, strength, and grace she embodied.
A Celebration of Life memorial service will be held at a later date, to be determined.
