LINDA LOUISE LUKE

Linda Louise Luke, 62, of Burlington, passed away Sunday, July 21, 2024 at her home surrounded by her loving family and devoted pets.

Born in Burlington on Nov. 22, 1961, she was the daughter of Donald and Eva (Payton) Finster. She graduated from Burlington High School and was a life-long resident of Burlington.

In 1991, she met the love of her life, David Luke, and was united in marriage on July 6, 2002. Throughout her working career, she worked at Gulbranson-Larson Insurance, Oldenburg Insurance and Glass Insurance of Lake Geneva, where she worked all the way up until she lost her battle with kidney cancer.

Linda was an avid animal lover and in 1997, her dream of owning a farm, came true. She had a passion for horses and started her own boarding business that she continued to run for the past 27 years. Many animals made their home on the farm along with many cherished memories with family and friends.

While she especially enjoyed spending time with her grandkids and rooting on the Milwaukee Brewers, she loved trips with Dave up north to their cabin in the woods, fishing on Lake McDermott, and listening to old country music with her dog Sophie.

Linda is survived by her husband, David Luke; parents, Donald and Eva Finster; children, Trisha (Jason) Fay and Timothy (Lorena) Luke; grandchildren, Jacob, Hailey and Kaelyn Luke and Jenna, Jaxon and Joey Fay; and siblings, Carol (Ron) Ullrich and Donald (Diane) Finster; brother-in-law, Dan Luke, sisters-in-law, Jayne Luke, Sharon (Larry) Dittman, and Donna Hirthe. She was preceded in death by her brother-in-law Dean Luke.

A special thank you to all of the oncology nurses and doctors at Mercy Health of Walworth and to Glass and Schenning Insurance.

A Memorial Service for Linda will take place on Tuesday, July 30, 2024, at 5 pm at Schuette Daniels Funeral Home. Relatives and friends may visit with the family on Tuesday, July 30 from 3 p.m. until the time of service. Private inurnment will take place at a later date.
