Margery “Marge”
A. Kitkowski, 80, of Fond du Lac and formerly of Burlington, passed away Wednesday, June 5, 2024, at Frontida Assisted Living: Adalaide Place in Fond du Lac.
Born in Burlington on Sept. 14, 1943, she was the daughter of Aloysius and Henrietta (nee Mangold) Vande Sand. Her early life was spent in Burlington, where she graduated from St. Charles Grade School and Burlington High School. She was previously married to Leonard J. Kitkowski. She spent many years in Burlington, where she raised her children, Chris, Beth, Mike and Sue. She eventually moved to Sun Prairie and then Fond du Lac in 2016.
Marge was a homemaker and worked as a bookkeeper for a number of businesses in the Burlington area. She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church and member of the Burlington Jaycettes. She enjoyed reading, word searches and watching tennis on TV.
Gram, as she was affectionately known by her grandchildren, adored being present at all of their sporting events – baseball, football, basketball, volleyball, tennis, soccer – as well as any school activities, birthdays, dance recitals, and countless other occasions. Every weekend, she would embark on journeys spanning hundreds of miles just to be there, enthusiastically cheering them on. Gram cherished each and every one of her grandchildren, demonstrating her love through preparing their favorite dishes for the holidays, baking an abundance of Christmas cookies, and meticulously selecting a personalized Christmas ornament for each of them, without fail, every year. Her goofy sense of humor, funny laugh, kind heart and gentle hugs were cherished by all that loved her.
Marge is survived by her children, Elizabeth ‘Beth An’ Schulz and Susan (Peter) Erickson; grandchildren, Kellan and Carsen Schulz, Brett (Fiancé Kortney Kohnke) and Emma Erickson, Jason and Cody Kitkowski and Brielle Blessing; siblings, James (Sharon) Vande Sand, Eileen (John) Brown, John (JoAnn) Vande Sand and Annette Vande Sand; along with many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; sons Christopher and Michael; grandson John Kitkowski; Leonard J. Kitkowski; and siblings Donald Vande Sand and Eugene (Joan) Vande Sand.

Services for Marge will be held Monday, June 10, 2024, at 3 p.m. at Schuette-Daniels Funeral Home. Relatives and friends may visit with the family from Noon until 3 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow at St. Charles Cemetery.
