Marion Theresa Purdum, 76, of Lyons, joined Our Lord in Heaven on Saturday, March 23, 2024.
Marion was born on Oct. 17, 1946, the daughter of the late Paul and Catherine (Hertel) Leffelman. She married Robert Purdum on June 19, 1971 in Lyons, and resided in that quaint village until her death. Marion worked for over 20 years in the Burlington School district in the cafeteria services. As a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Parish in Lyons, she volunteered in the church’s activities. She enjoyed baking, sewing, and crocheting.
Marion was preceded in death by her parents; her sister Dolores Smudde; and sister-in-law Beth Leffelman. Marion is survived by her husband Robert Purdum; brother-in-law Gerald Smudde; and siblings, James (Jill) Leffelman, Joseph (Beth) Leffelman, Frank (Julee) Leffelman, Paul (Barb) Leffelman, Dennis (Susan) Leffelman, Catherine (Mark) Sager, Raymond (Debby) Leffelman, and Stephen Leffelman; and numerous nieces, nephews, and many other dear friends.
A Mass of Christian Burial took place on Friday April 5, 2024 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Lyons.
