Mark B. Wieners, 90, of Nekoosa, passed away Monday, June 3, 2024 at Aspirus Riverview Hospital in Wisconsin Rapids.
Born in Burlington on April 25, 1934, he was the son of Fred and Mabel (nee Ketterhagen) Wieners. He served in the US Army and on April 19, 1958, he was united in marriage to Betty Wieners. Following marriage, they made Burlington their home. He was a resident of Nekoosa for the last 37 years. Betty preceded him in death on May 12, 2023.
Mark worked as a mechanic and fabricator for heavy equipment maintenance companies with his start at Merten’s Service with his good friend John and finished his career with retirement from Amon and Sons at the young age of 55.
Mark was an avid woodworker, fisherman and hunter. He was also an active member of Boy Scouts of America, the Knights of Columbus and the Burlington Jaycees. Mark attained the nickname of “Smiley” for his wonderful personality and smile
Mark is survived by his children, Chris (Steve) Ehlen, Mark E. (Jill) Wieners, Donna (Dave) Albrecht, David (Dawn) Wieners and JoAnn (Korey) Tenpas; grandchildren, Nicholas (Jessica) Ehlen, Jonathan (Amanda) Ehlen, Katelyn (Craig) Loeffler, Jared (Stephanie) Wieners, Lauren (Vaughn) Weis, Geoff (Sommer Navarez) Albrecht, Kevin (Katelynn) Albrecht, Justin (Lauren) Wieners, Kristen (Erwin Villegas) Wieners, Brady (Katrina) Wincapaw, Nicole Relyea, Sierra Relyea, Kelsey (Adam) Fleischhacker and Sidney (Eddie) Tenpas; 15 great-grandchildren; and siblings, Richard (Kathy) Wieners and Ronald (Sue) Wieners. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife and brother Paul (Joan) Wieners.
A Celebration of Life for Mark will take place on Friday, Aug. 23, beginning at 3:30 p.m. at Mark and Jill’s home at 1029 North Rd., Burlington. A private burial took place at St. Mary Catholic Cemetery.
