Mark Leon Lois, 71, of Burlington, passed away on Friday, Aug. 16, 2024 at Clement J. Zablocki VA Hospital. He was born on June 23, 1953, in Burlington to Leon and Mary (nee Meinke) Lois. He was a graduate of Salem Central. He served in the US Air Force from 1979 to 1983 as an Air Cargo Specialist, where he spent time in Germany.
On Oct. 20, 1984 Mark married the love of his life Linda “Curbie” (nee Smith) Lois. Mark and Curbie raised three children. They spent many years planting their roots in Burlington, watching their children grow up and plant their own roots, working at a number of businesses together, and sharing their love for their granddaughter and all their grand fur babies.
In both work and play nothing made him happier than spending time with family. A man of many talents and interests, Mark was known as a resourceful thinker and skilled driver with an unmatched sense of humor and a deep devotion to his loved ones.
Mark is survived by his wife of almost 40 years, Curbie Lois; his loving children, Kurt Lois, Laura Lois, and Alex (Carly) Lois and his granddaughter Alison Lois. Mark is further survived by brothers, Tom Lois and Tim (Carlene) Lois; numerous in-laws, life long friend Alan Stark and many nieces and nephews.
Mark is preceded in death by his parents, sister-in-law Ellen Lois and niece Heather Bloss.

A Celebration of Life will take place on Friday, Aug. 23 from 4 until 7 p.m. at Schuette-Daniels Funeral Home.
