MILDRED A. HUCK

      Mildred A. Huck, 97, of Union Grove, passed away Monday, Jan. 8, 2023, at Vitas Ruth Hospice in West Allis.

Mildred was born in Racine on April 3, 1926, to Everett and Anna (nee Osenga) Foxwell. Her early life was spent in Yorkville on the family farm. She graduated from Union Grove Union High School and attended UW Madison and then Nursing School in Milwaukee. On Sept. 7, 1946, at St. Mary’s Church in Dover, she was united in marriage to Clifford Huck. Following marriage, they made Union Grove their home, of which she was a life-long resident. They enjoyed their summers at The Island on Eagle Lake. Clifford preceded her in death on Nov. 15, 2007.

Mildred was a homemaker and member of St. Robert Bellarmine Catholic Church and American Legion Auxiliary Post 171. She was also an active member of both St. Mary and St. Robert’s Ladies Guild. She liked to read and was an active supporter and board member of Graham Public Library. Mildred enjoyed playing the piano, traveling with Clifford, listening to music and sewing. She raised five sons and a daughter and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Mildred is survived by her children, Tom (Patty Claeys) Huck, Peter (Patty) Huck, Jerry (Callie Elliston) Huck, Mary Huck and Paul (Sally) Huck; daughter-in-law, Sheila; grandchildren, Matthew Huck, Peter John (Erika) Huck, Sarah Huck, David Huck, Brian Huck, Lydia (Chris Bell) Huck, Abigail (Ian) Malcolm and Margaret Huck; great-grandchildren, Ella, Addy, Rowan, Liam, Sunny Jane and Iris; and sister, Helen Evans. She was preceded in death by her husband, son Patrick, and sisters Grace and Ruth.

The family would like to thank Mildred’s caregivers, Beverly and Suzie.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Graham Public Library.

A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 3, 2024, at St. Mary’s of Dover. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Parish Cemetery. Relatives and friends may visit with the family at the church on Saturday, Feb. 3 from 9:30 until 10:45 a.m.
