PATRICIA S. CHRISTOPHERSON

     Patricia “Pat” S. Christopherson, 82, of Lyons, passed away Thursday, July 11, 2024 at Holton Manor in Elkhorn.

Born in Park Falls on Feb. 1, 1942, she was the daughter of George and Velma (nee Shoemaker) Smith. Her early life was spent in Park Falls, where she graduated as Valedictorian from Park Falls High School. She attended Wisconsin State Teachers College in Superior, where she met her husband. On Sept. 29, 1962 in Park Falls, she was united in marriage to Marty Christopherson. Following marriage, they resided in Kenosha for 13 years, then Lyons for 49 years. Marty preceded her in death on Nov. 24, 2011.

Pat worked as a waitress for Krok’s and Windjammer in Kenosha before working as an office manager for 29 years with Medical Products in West Allis. She also worked for the Kenosha Racetrack in payroll and Brunk Industries in Lake Geneva in purchasing. She was a member of Cross Lutheran Church where she was the Bell Choir director for over 30 years. She was also on council, acted as assisting minister, organist, a counter, call committees and a Choir director. In addition to using her musical talent at church, Pat also played the clarinet for over 30 years in the Kiwanis Band. She was a member of a bridge club in Kenosha for over 55 years as well as at the Burlington Senior Center. She was also a proud poll worker in Lyons. She was very generous and an animal lover, who donated to Lakeland Animal Shelter and Lyons Fire Dept.

Pat is survived by her children, Michelle (Joe) DeRosia, Dale Christopherson and Charlene (Carolyn) Sellers-Rizzo; grandchildren, Allie Daniels and Jordan Rizzo; siblings, Laura Weeks, John “Jack” (Sylvia) Smith, Kathleen “Kathy” Melnychuk and Robert “Bob” (Nan) Smith; as well as many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and brothers-in-law, Roger Weeks and Theodore Melnychuk.

The family would like to thank the wonderful staff at Holton Manor, Aurora at Home Hospice, Dr. Paul Webber and the staff at Aurora Medical Center in Burlington.

Memorials may be made to Cross Lutheran Church or Lakeland Animal Shelter.

A funeral service for Pat will be held on Monday, Aug. 12, 2024 at 6 p.m. at Cross Lutheran Church. Relatives and friends may visit with the family on Monday, August 12 at the church from 3 p.m. until the time of service. Pat will be laid to rest at the Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery with a private family service.
