Priscilla “Percy” Dean Stoflet, 88, of Spring Prairie, died Sunday, July 21, 2024, at Aurora Medical Center Summit, after a tragic fall at her home.
Priscilla was born on March 1, 1936, to Walter and Evelyn (Schwandt) Anderson, the fifth of thirteen children. Her early life was spent in the Lake Geneva area where she attended public schools and enjoyed her brothers and sisters. She married the love of her life, Forrest Homer Stoflet, and they successfully raised their five children. Priscilla was active in many things throughout her life, including sledding, skiing, snowmobiling, camping, roller-skating, singing, dancing, reading, gardening, canning and freezing fruits and vegetables, and sewing. She formed the first Toast Mistress Club and polished her typing and speaking skills. Priscilla had a greeting card ministry before that was a “thing.” She enjoyed reaching out to people through her cards and letters and went through postage stamps faster than a newborn goes through diapers. Her church friends were more than a blessing to her in her later years. She was in the process of finding a new church as the Spring Prairie United Methodist Church was shutting its doors.
Her greatest enjoyments were spending time with her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and hearing about her great-great grandchildren, who she was looking forward to meeting.
Priscilla worked at Nestles for a short time and at NEL Frequency Control for almost thirty years. She enjoyed the people she worked with and even after having retired in 1999 kept in contact with many of them.
Priscilla is survived by her children, Gerry Stoflet of Elkhorn, Daryl (Patti) Stoflet of East Troy, Pamela (David) Pontel of Argonne, Sally Stoflet (Dennis Eisenberg) of Waterford, and Benjie (Margie) Stoflet of Deadwood, South Dakota; grandchildren, Abbey (Tim) Ovadal, Adam (Maureen) Stoflet, Ashley Stoflet (Jeff Miller), Ryan Stoflet, Holli (Jason) Wolter, Stacey (Jan) Streiter, Justin Pontel (Bobbi Erin), Victoria Leffelman (Patrick Arnett), Kara Leffelman (Eric Rosenquist), Kurtis (Cassandra) Leffelman, and Rachel and Cameran Stoflet; twenty one great-grandchildren, Kendall and Carter Ovadal, Isabella and Brody Stoflet, Dominic Miller, Avery and Callie Wolter, Cole, Alyssa, and Jasmine Dennison, Hannah, Austin, and Jacob Pontel, Anna Melka, Chester Arnett, Mabel Leffelman, Alysandra and Natalia Holland, Forrest Leffelman, Quintin Tidwell, and Reese Stoflet; and two great-great grandchildren, Emma and Johnathan.
