Robert J. Larson, 75, of Burlington, passed away Sunday, April 21, 2024 at Aurora Medical Center in Burlington.
Robert was born in Burlington on Oct. 28, 1948, to Stanley and Georgia (nee Schumacher) Larson. He was a life-long resident of Burlington, graduating from Burlington High School. He served in the US Army in Vietnam and Germany from 1969 to 1971. On Feb. 16, 1998, in Las Vegas, Nevada, he was united in marriage to Dorothy Davis. She preceded him in death on Dec. 19, 2021.
Robert worked as an operating engineer for Wanasek Corp. for over 30 years and was a member of VFW, Lions Club, Buck Trails Archery and American Legion. He enjoyed card games, especially Euchre with his friends, camping, fishing, hunting and gardening. His biggest passion was getting his crossword scratch-offs. He loved spending time with his family and friends, especially at family gatherings including Wednesday night dinners with his daughters.
Robert is survived by his children, Hank Larson, Angie (Troy) Ketterhagen, Nickie (Eric) Jones, Carrie (Kyle) Oldenburg, Felicia (Nathan) Longo, Patrick (Joy) Davis, Paul (Paula) Fletcher and Penny (Scott) Wallace; grandchildren, Destiny, Desaray, Jehna, Josalyn, Alissa, Alexa, Hannah, Chase, Jordan, Lilly, Caden, Jaden, Lydia, Chloe, Lorelei, Nevaeha, Anthony, Jade, Molly, Emily, Camden and Braden; great-grandchildren, Scarlett, Mason and Adalyn; brothers, Bruce (Donna) Larson and Bill (Michelle) Larson; along with many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, sisters Betty and Diane and his four-legged friend Sammy.

Robert’s loved ones are thankful that he was able to be an eye donor and give the gift of sight to others.

Inurnment will take place at the Southern Wisconsin Veterans Cemetery on May 21, 2024 at 11 a.m. with full military honors.
