SHARON RAE DAVIES

Sharon Rae Davies, 83, passed away on March, 2024, at Wellington Parc of Owensboro in Owensboro, Kentucky.

Sharon was born on Aug. 4, 1940, to Frederick and Shirley (nee Cardy) Schmidt in Burlington. She married Barry Wirth and had three beautiful children.

On June 17, 1977, Sharon married Calvin Davies at sunset on serene Lake Tichigan. Together, they lovingly raised those three children. Sharon and Cal loved to travel and often spoke of their sailing adventures while cruising 27 times.

Sharon was proud to be a member of Norway Lutheran Church in Wind Lake. She often helped with the Outreach program. Sharon was the Waterford Town and Village Building Inspector for 16 years. She was also a Town Board Member for the Town of Brule for several years. Sharon and Cal loved to snowmobile and they both held many offices in the Tichigan Sno-n-Go and Iron River snowmobile clubs. She was very proud of being a master gardener. All of the flowerbeds at the Bayfield County Fairgrounds in Iron River are products of her handy work.

Sharon is survived by her children, Whitney (Ron) Gulbrandson, Misti Wirth, and Blake (Kari) Wirth; grandchildren, Austin, Allison, Jon, Kristin, Karleigh, Chavis, Weston, Tiera, Julia and Jason; great grandchildren, Brianna, Jaxson, Raiden, Rynnleigh, Kainan and Addyson; her sisters, Jean (Ron) Lewis, Wini (Doug) Sheeder and Val Iverson; many nieces and nephews, cousins, extended family, and friends.

Sharon is preceded in death by her husband, Cal, who passed away in October of 2023.

Sharon leaves behind a legacy of dedication and a deep love for her family.

The family wants to thank ProHealth Regency Senior Communities Brookfield, Wellington Parc of Owensboro, and Western Kentucky Hospice for the love and care they showed to our mother.
