William “Bill” E. Warren, 86, of Burlington, passed away Monday, March 18, 2024, at his home.
Bill was born in Kenosha County on Sept. 22, 1937, to Robert and Loraine (nee Ketterhagen) Warren. He grew up on the family farm, attended St. Charles Grade School and Salem Central High School.
On May 13, 1958, he married Audrey Clara Reck. Together they raised their four children in the Town of Burlington. Bill worked in the construction field his entire career, first for KENWAL and then Kaelber Company. At the same time, he also maintained the Lift Stations for Browns Lake Sanitary District for nearly 50 years.
Bill was a Volunteer Firefighter for the Town of Burlington Fire Department. In his earlier years, he and Audrey enjoyed bowling in leagues and playing cards with their friends.
Bill is survived by his children, Pamela (Rick) Warren-Armstrong, Lorrie (Paul) Wagner, Dan (Audrey) Warren, and Dale (Linda) Warren; grandchildren Klare (Jake) and William (Aubree) Armstrong, Alison (Thomas) Buisse, Haley and Mitchell (Ashleigh) Wagner, and Les Warren and Emily (Austin) Galloway; and great grandchildren, Audrey, Bennett, and Jack Buisse, and Rowan Galloway. He is further survived by his younger brother Jerry (Mary K) Warren, and brother and sisters-in-law Warren and Barb Reck, and Karen Delany.
Bill was preceded in death by his wife Audrey on Sept. 11, 2017; his parents, and his siblings Joyce (Jerry) Poepping, Dorothy (Robert) Meyers, Robert (Judy) Warren, and Tom Warren.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, April 28, from 1 to 4 p.m. at Integrity Celebration Center, 2789 Browns Lake Dr., Burlington. Private burial will take place at St. Charles Cemetery.
