CODY A. DORN

      Cody A. Dorn, 21, of Lyons, passed away from a tragic accident on Sunday, Feb. 2, 2025. Born in Elkhorn on Nov. 12, 2003, he is the son of Douglas Jr. and Kimberly (nee Lancaster) Dorn.

Cody graduated from Burlington High School in 2022. He was tied for second with a 3.99 GPA. He was a member of Driven, Best Buddies, Archery Club and National Honor Society. He was a member of FBLA and went to Nationals in Chicago for Accounting. He enjoyed playing volleyball and running hurdles in track. The end of his junior year he started working at Menards as Courtesy Patrol where he advanced to Head Cashier. After some time, he moved out to the yard department. He always gave a good day’s work. He did not mind the cold winters or the hot summers. When asked to do a task he never left the task undone. His manager always knew that when Cody was at work, he knew the work would get done.

During his senior year Cody participated in the Start College Now program. He attended Waukesha Technical College where he just graduated in December 2024 with a Technical Diploma for Accounting Assistant and an Associate Degree in Accounting. While attending Waukesha Technical College he had earned a 4.0 GPA and graduated with honors. Cody was a kindhearted individual that would always be there if you needed help. He would give the shirt off his back for you. He was always patient and understanding with everyone that he encountered. His hard work showed through his academics and work ethic. He was a perfectionist and always gave 110% in whatever he did. His patience and hard work are evident by the numerous Lego kits that he assembled. Cody was liked by everyone and had so many friends. He was a definite role model in so many ways and always loved a challenge. He was extremely close with his brothers. Cody also adored his grandparents and loved his parents dearly. Cody met the love of his life, Ashlynn Jensen, while working at Menards.

Cody is survived by his parents, Douglas Jr. and Kimberly Dorn; siblings, Colton Dorn, Casey Dorn and Cayden Dorn; furbaby Chase; Coltons’s girlfriend Elizabeth Kahler; Cody’s girlfriend, Ashlynn Jensen; grandparents, Harold and Patricia Lancaster, and Douglas Dorn Sr.; along with aunts, uncles, cousin and a second cousin. He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Judith Dorn.

A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, Feb. 8, 2025 from 1 until 4 p.m. at Schuette-Daniels Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the family.
