GERALD J. CRAMER

      Gerald J. Cramer, 86, of Burlington, passed away Saturday, Feb. 8, 2025 at Aurora Medical Center in Burlington.

Born on Nov. 24, 1938 in Burlington, he was the son of William and Anna (nee Bieneman) Cramer. His early life was spent in Burlington, where he graduated from St. Mary High School.

On June 18, 1960 at St. Mary Catholic Church, he was united in marriage to Lois Vos. They resided in Burlington until 1997, when they moved to Camp Douglas. They returned to Burlington in 2018.

Gerald was a carpenter and co-owner of C & B Construction and later owner of Cramer Construction. He also worked for American Motors. He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, Town of Cutler Fire Department for 11 years, Bucktrail Archery and Knights of Columbus in Burlington. He was a member of multiple bowling leagues and enjoyed fishing in Canada, along with hunting in Wisconsin, Colorado and Alaska. He also always enjoyed a good game of Sheepshead, Eucher, and Cribbage.

Gerald is survived by his children, Dawn Jahns, Jeff (Mary Birren) Cramer, Penny Calmes, Steve (Yvette) Cramer, Craig (Jill) Cramer and Jerald (Kami Miller) Cramer; grandchildren, Chelsey (Nick) Fritchen, Tyler Calmes, Hannah (Jesse Burns) Calmes, Brooke Collins, Trenton (Megan) Cramer, Michael (Emily) Fallon, Derrick (Shannon) Fallon, Kelly (Chais) Parkos, Claudia Cramer and Carson Cramer; eighteen great-grandchildren; siblings, Kenneth, James (Millie) and Ruth (Bob) Diehl; and sister-in-law, Fern Cramer. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Lois and brothers, John and William (Joanne).

The family would like to thank the staff at Oak Park Place for their care during this time.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Town of Cutler Volunteer Fire Department.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held for Gerald on Monday, Feb. 24, 2025 at 11 a.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church. Relatives and friends may visit with the family on Sunday, Feb. 23, 2025 from 2 until 5 p.m. at Schuette-Daniels Funeral Home. Burial will follow Mass at St. Mary Cemetery.
