JANET HEINZ

Janet Heinz, 81, of Cudahy, passed away Friday, Feb. 28, 2025 at her home. Born in Burlington on Oct. 23, 1943, she was the daughter of Arthur and Romana Kayser. She grew up in Burlington and graduated from St. Mary’s High School. After high school, she moved to Milwaukee and started working at Northwestern Mutual. During that time, she met Lawrence Heinz and they were married on April 17, 1971, at St. Charles Church in Burlington. Following marriage, Janet and Lawrence moved briefly to Muskego before moving to Milwaukee, where they lived and raised their family. During these years she worked at College Avenue Mini-Warehouses, and then ran Honey Bear Child Care, her in-home daycare. After they retired, they returned to Burlington for a few years. After 48 years of marriage, Lawrence passed away on Feb. 4, 2020, and Janet moved to Cudahy to be closer to her family.

While Janet lived in Burlington, she was a member of Cross Lutheran Church, and since moving to Cudahy, she had been an active member of Discover Church. She always enjoyed gardening and was very proud of her flowers and tending to her plants. She found pleasure in cooking, baking, and occasionally candy-making. Throughout her life she enjoyed knitting and sewing. Janet enjoyed reading mystery novels, as well as watching football and pro wrestling.

Janet is survived by her children, Christine (Curtis) Parker, David Heinz, and Joseph (Carrie Kapczynski) Heinz; grandchildren, Xavier, Jonathon, Elizabeth, Steven, and Benjamin Parker, and Seth, Skyler, Carson, Michael, and Charlotte Heinz; great grandchildren, Jace Heinz and Peter Parker; as well as sisters, Ruth Ann (Duaine) and Katherine (Richard) Wieners; and brothers Charles (Karen) and Richard (Christine) Kayser. She was preceded in death by her husband Lawrence Heinz, her parents Arthur and Romana Kayser, and her sisters, Mary (John) Lange and Alice Jean “Gee Gee” Kayser.

The family would like to thank the Cudahy Police, Fire, and Emergency Responders for the many times that they came out to assist Janet.
