Mary L. Lois died at the age of 84 on Feb. 13, 2025.
Mary was the daughter of Werner and Hazel (nee Bodden) Remer. On June 6, 1959, in Elkhorn, she was united in marriage to Marcellus Lois. Mary was mom to Sandra (Randy) Francois and Debra (Tom) Wachholder; grandmother to Ashley Francois, Jared Francois, Jessica Owens, Eric (Amber) Owens, Matthew (Jenny) Owens and Caitlyn Owens; great-grandmother to Braden Bieneman, Brianna Owens, Aubree Meisner, Mason Owens, Cami Parker and Addison Knapkiewicz. She is also survived by her sisters Marge Schultz and Barbara Remer. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Marc; grandson Mitchell Owens; sister Marlene Gardinier; and brothers, Edward, John, Roger and Ronald Remer.
Mary worked in the food service for the Burlington School District. She loved playing cards, going to the casinos, bowling, and watching the Brewers and Packers on TV. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family, especially the grandchildren.
A funeral service for Mary will be held on Saturday, Feb. 22, 2025 at 1 p.m. at Schuette-Daniels Funeral Home. Relatives and friends may visit with the family from 11 a.m. until the time of service. A private family burial will take place at St. Mary’s Cemetery.
