Robert “Anthony” N. Mackey Jr., 82, of Lake Geneva, passed away Sunday, Feb. 16, 2025 at Sage Meadows.
Born in Ohio on Nov. 8, 1942, he was the son of Robert and Mary (nee Fontana) Mackey Sr. His early life was spent in Ohio. He was a Burlington resident since 2000. Together with his partner, Josef Freuchtel, he owned Josef/Anthony Hairdressers in Milwaukee. His life partner, Josef, preceded him in death in 1998.
Anthony was a wigmaster for the Milwaukee Ballet, as well as theaters and high schools in Southeastern Wisconsin and Northern Illinois. He performed ballet in New York and loved to entertain. He was known for his lavish parties, earning write-ups in the Milwaukee Journal. He was also an avid collector of Lalique Crystal, Waterford Crystal, art and sculptures.
Anthony was preceded in death by his parents and life partner of 42 years, Josef.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Haylofters Community Theatre.
Services for Anthony will be held Friday, Feb. 21, 2025 at 6 p.m. at Schuette-Daniels Funeral Home. A visitation will be held at the funeral home from 4 until 6 p.m. Burial will take place at Burlington Cemetery on Saturday, Feb. 22, 2025 at 11 a.m.
