Chalk up another early-season tournament win for the Burlington girls volleyball team.
The Demons pretty much dominated at the Muskego Invite Saturday, not letting any opponent closer than six points in the final tally en route to the title.
BHS is currently 19-0 on the season.
“We played four solid teams and did a nice job of playing consistently,” said co-head coach Teri Leach. “We maintained our high level of play for the majority of the day.”
Burlington beat host Muskego 25-15, 25-14, and Arrowhead 25-19, 25-15. The Demons also downed Greenfield 25-14, 25-13 and Brookfield East 25-9, 25-16.
Senior Ciara Capezio led BHS with 45 kills, while Quinn Spieker pitched in 20. No one else was in double figures for the Demons.
Kaysie Shebeneck had 72 assists and 16 digs in a double-double for BHS, while Morganne Longoria had 31 digs to pace the team. Capezio also had 20 digs.
Longoria had a team-best seven aces, while Capezio and Shebeneck added five aces each, and Spieker four.
BHS also opened Southern Lakes Conference play Aug. 30, beating Waterford 25-17, 25-5, 25-16.
Capezio had 16 kills, while Shebeneck had 24 assists. Robyn Robers pitched in a team-best six service aces, while Longoria had nine digs.
