The Burlington/Badger/Catholic Central/Wilmot gymnastics team opened with a victory Tuesday night, downing Jefferson at Karcher Middle School 141.3875 to 102.50.
“We had some falls, but the girls handled themselves well,” said coach Diane Biedrzycki. “It was a great start.”
Molly Benavides won the vault with a 9.675, while Bailey Fitzpatrick took the uneven bars with a score of 9.20 – the only event she competed after spraining an ankle in practice Monday night.
Jenna Fitzpatrick won beam with an 8.875, and Benavides won floor with a 9.5125.
Benavides won the all-around with a score of 36.8875, while Jenna Fitzpatrick was second with a 36.375.
Ciara Johnson, forced into the all-around with Bailey Fitzpatrick’s injury, finished third in the all-around with a 30.85 total.
