In opening Southern Lakes Conference Tournament action Tuesday, the Waterford High School boys soccer team took on Elkhorn at Elkhorn and was soundly defeated 7-0.

“We just didn’t show up tonight,” head coach Rob Blascoe said. “They were beating us on through runs. We weren’t marking them well.”

Elkhorn led 3-0 at the half, scoring in the ninth, 23rd and 29th minutes.

In the second half, the Elks added four more goals, one in the 46th minute, two back-to-back in the 56th and 59th minutes, and the final goal in the 71st minute.

At Badger

A 4-0 loss at Lake Geneva Badger Sept. 20 dropped the Wolverine boys’ overall SLC record to 4-3 going into the SLC Tournament Tuesday. Overall, the team fell to 5-11.

In the Badger loss, it was a tale of two halves for Waterford.

Badger scored three times in the first half to take a 3-0 lead.

“We then changed our system of play and outshot them and outplayed them in the second half,” head coach Rob Blascoe said. “They had one goal on a missed touch by us. We played much better in that half overall.”
