The Waterford Union High School volleyball team played the best volleyball of its season so far Saturday, finishing second at the Whitefish Bay Tournament.
The Wolverines opened the day by losing in three sets to Wauwatosa East, but bounced back to sweep Milwaukee Riverside and Whitefish Bay Dominican.
Waterford then went to three sets again to beat Racine Case before falling to host Whitefish Bay in three sets in the final.
Just about everyone on the Waterford squad contributed statistically at the tournament. Junior Bekah Raebel led the team with 45 kills, but Kelly Strasser added 12, Madison Blair 12, Jaycie Chart and Kelsey Perkins eight each and setter Elyssa Hochevar seven.
The Wolverines defeated Delavan-Darien 28-26, 20-25, 25-13, 25-18 Tuesday night. Raebel finished with a team best 17 kills, while Strasser added 15. Hochevar had 39 assists and six aces.
