After losing their opening match of the tournament to Westosha Central, the Waterford Wolverines battled to a sixth-place finish at the Southern Lakes Conference tournament at Union Grove Saturday.
The Wolverines lost 25-13, 25-12 against the Falcons, who went on to finish second to top-ranked Burlington.
In the consolation semifinals, Waterford beat Wilmot 25-10, 18-25, 25-15, 25-12, but then lost to Delavan-Darien 20-25, 25-21, 25-22, 27-25 in the fifth-place match.
Bekah Raebel led the Wolverines with 46 kills, while Kelly Strasser added 18 and Kelsey Perkins 14.
Elyssa Hochevar had 84 assists and 22 digs, while Raebel had a team-best 26 digs.
Kaylee Fry and Mikaela Grunze finished with 25 digs each, while Grunze had a team-best seven aces. Hochevar and Raebel added five aces each, while Fry had four.
