Team has won four straight as it makes playoff push
The Southern Lakes Blue Devils cruised to their fourth consecutive win in lopsided fashion last Saturday, blowing out the fledgling Rockford Raptors, 71-0, in a game played at Westosha Central High School.
Rockford, in it’s first season of league play, was overmatched from the start as the Blue Devils wasted little time getting on the scoreboard and pulling way for their largest winning margin of the season.
The win improved the Blue Devils to 4-2 in Iron Man Football League play and keeps them solidly in second place in the AFC begin the unbeaten Rock County Rage (6-0).
The win puts the Blue Devils on track for a run to the playoffs as the teams enter the final three weeks of the regular season. Looming large on the schedule is an Aug. 17 rematch with the Rage, which edged the Blue Devils, 33-27, in June.
The Blue Devils will look to improve to 5-2 Saturday when they once again face the Rockford Raptors – this time on the road in a 6 p.m. start at Harlem High School in Machesney Park, Ill.
