Although neither squad placed in the top half of the Greendale Invite Monday, Mickael Pauly had a very successful day, winning both the 400-meter dash and the 800.
Pauly’s victories accounted for 20 of the Burlington High School boys’ track and field team’s 32.5 points.
The Demon boys finished 10th overall out of 14 teams. New Berlin West won the invite with 122.5 points.
Pauly won the 400 in 51.52 seconds, and the 800 in 2:01.21.
The Demons scored 6.5 points in the pole vault, with Cody Mather finishing fourth by clearing 10 feet six inches, and Greg Vogt tying for seventh at a height of 9-00.

The final boys’ team point came from an eighth-place finish by the 4-by-400 meter relay team.
The Demon girls scored more points (43) than their counterparts, but had no winners. The girls’ squad finished seventh out of 11 teams, with Nicolet winning the girls’ invite with 124 points.
Head girls coach Dan Luneau noted that he did not take a full squad to this invite, but too athletes that he wanted to give more opportunity to compete.
Meta and Brittany Ehlen accounted for 16 of the Demon points.
“It was a great meet for people like them,” Luneau said. “Meta and Brittany shined. They had a great night.”
Meta Ehlen was third in the 400 in 1:05.61, and fourth in the high jump, clearing 4-08. Brittany Ehlen was fifth in the 1,600 (5:59.12) and eighth in the pole vault, clearing 8-00.
Burlington earned 11 points in the long jump competion, with Hannah Wills finishing third with a leap of 15-10.0 and Emma Fettig fourth with a leap of 15-08.5.
“I brought them along just to give them some jumps outside,” Luneau said.
The girls scored nine points in the triple jump with Lisa Bedessem third with a jump of 31-10.5, and Lauren Otter sixth (30-10.5).
The 4-by-100 and 4-by-400 relay teams each finished sixth.
The remaining point for the girls’ squad came from Alyssa Wawryzniakowski (eighth, 800).
Up next for both squads is the Badger Invitational at Lake Geneva on Friday.
