With three wins in four duals recently, the Waterford High School boys tennis team went above .500 in both Southern Lakes Conference action and on the season.
The Wolverine boys defeated Wilmot 6-1 April 26 at home to improve to 2-1 in SLC action and 3-2 overall. It was the boys third match in as many days.
In singles action, Nathaniel Brockmann improved to 4-1 on the year with a three-set 6-4, 4-6, 6-4 win.
Alex Bluemel, at No. 3 singles, won 6-2, 6-3; while Harry Soeder won 6-3, 6-0 at No. 4 singles.
All three doubles teams won with Konnor Beaulier and Zack Crafton grabbing a 7-6 (4), 6-3 victory at No 1, Johnny Nelson and Matt Wolke winning 6-3, 6-4 at No. 2, and Rickey Curley and Alex Kaiser pulling out a three-set 4-6, 6-1, 6-1 victory at No. 3.
Vs. Burlington
In another 6-1 victory, Waterford defeated Burlington April 25 at Burlington.
Brockman won easily 6-4, 6-0 at No. 1 singles, with Ryan Engler taking a 6-3, 6-0 win at No. 2, and Bluemel winning 6-4, 6-4 at No. 3.
Beaulier and Crafton won 6-3, 6-1 at No. 1 doubles. Nelson and Wolke matched that score in a win at No. 2, while Curley and Kaiser won 7-6 (3), 6-2 at No. 3.
Vs. Mukwonago
One day earlier, the netters took on a very good Mukwonago squad at Mukwonago and were dealt a 7-0 defeat.
The best matches came at No. 3 singles and No. 1 and No. 3 doubles.
Vs. Kenosha Bradford
On April 22, Waterford hosted Kenosha Bradford in a non-conference dual and squeaked out a 4-3 win.
Brockmann had an easy time at No. 1 singles with a 6-1, 6-0 victory. At No. 2 singles, Engler coasted to a 6-1, 6-2 win.
