The hometown boy is returning to where it all began.
Dallas Cowboys Pro Bowl quarterback and 1998 Burlington High School graduate Tony Romo will host his annual football camp Wednesday, June 25, at Burlington High School.
Children entering grades seven through 12 will participate in the all-position camp from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. The cost is $20.
Then, from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m., Romo will lead a youth football camp for grades three through six. Admission is free.
All participants receive a camp T-shirt.
Romo was an all-state quarterback, shooting guard and golfer at BHS before become the Division I-AA player of the year at Eastern Illinois University.
According to the Burlington Area School District website, Romo will share his expertise with all players in camp, regardless of their position.
He will spend a great deal of the time working with the quarterbacks demonstrating fundamentals of the running game and passing game.
Techniques such as drops and bootlegs will be covered along with reading coverages and pre-snap reads.
This is an all-position non-padded camp. The Burlington High School football staff, along with other area high school and college coaches, will be on hand for instruction.
The camp will be held regardless of weather conditions.
