Led by a junior and a freshman, the Burlington High School boys’ golf team placed second at the Franklin Triangular Thursday with a 173. Played at South Hills Country Club in Franksville, Franklin won the event with a 169. South Milwaukee shot a 194.

“A 173 for our first time out – I’m pretty happy,” head coach Bill Berkholtz said. “To start with, that’s pretty good.”

Berkholtz noted that he has a very young squad this year with just one senior. His only returning letterwinner is sophomore Ben Geiger, who is currently injured.

Freshman Brian Dankle and sophomore Tony Stang each fired a 40 to lead the Demons. Junior Scott Vyhanek carded a 45, senior Zach Martin a 48 and junior Roger Haluzak a 50.
