The Burlington Co-op girls high school swimming team finished fifth Saturday in a deep field in the Blackhawk Invite at Fort Atkinson High School.
The Demons swam in a Southern Lakes Conference meet Tuesday at home against Jefferson/Cambridge. BC swims in a SLC meet Oct. 4 at Whitewater.
Burlington Co-op consists of swimmers from Burlington, Catholic Central, East Troy, Union Grove and Waterford high schools.
“We had 13 best times of the season out of 24 entries,” Demons coach Denita Jones said. “It was a good meet, and the freshman did well.”
Competitors earned medals through sixth place.
Morgan Traughber finished third in the 200-yard individual medley in 2 minutes, 21 seconds and third in the 100 backstroke (1:02.38).
The Traughbers, Emma Langley and Olivia Piccione finished fifth in the 200 freestyle relay (1:47.46) and fourth in the 400 freestyle relay (3:57.48).
Madison Traughber finished fifth (2:21.79) in the 200-yard individual medley and sixth in the 100 butterfly (1:05.38).
Jenna Hotvedt finished seventh in the 500 freestyle (5:39.13) and ninth in the 100 backstroke (1:06.96). Piccione finished ninth in the 100 freestyle (58.91).

On Senior Night Sept. 27 at the Aurora Wellness Center, the Demons cruised to a Southern Lakes Conference victory.
The Demons honored seniors Maddi Haas and Gianna Vondra.
