GREEN BAY – The Burlington girls volleyball squad’s momentum from a thrilling comeback victory Thursday night kept rolling Friday in a WIAA Division 1 state semifinal.

One day after storming back from a 0-2 deficit against the two-time defending state champs and winning in five sets, Burlington downed Menomonee Falls, 26-24, 16-25, 25-19, 25-19, in spite of an overall sub-par hitting night.

Despite a .176 hitting percentage, Burlington recorded a Division 1 State Tournament record 15 aces, including six from Alyssa Turzenski, which ties her for third-most in a Division 1 match.

The Demons were led by Abby Koenen with 21 kills and 40 assists from Kaley Blake. Turzenski also tallied double figures in kills with 10.

Neenah (44-4) will play Burlington (39-9) for the Division 1 title Saturday afternoon at 4:30 p.m.
