Team hosted county meet at school district forest

The Burlington High School cross country Team hosted the Racine County Invitational Aug. 26 and captured third place in both the boys and girls competitions.
It was the first time the Demons hosted the county meet at the School District Forest, according to coach Matt Nie, who said the course is emerging as a favorite among area teams.
Nie said his teams’ performance was an impressive start to the season.
Medal winners for the boys team included Casey Dorn (4th for 11th/12th grade); Jaiden Matsche (6th for 9th/10th grade)’ and Ian Nie (9th for 11/12th grade).
Union Grove won the boys meet with a team time of 1:40:30.6, followed by Waterford (1:41:37.2); Burlington (1:45:11.4); Raciine Horlick (1:46:42.9); Racine Park (1:49:38.7); 1:52:49.2.
Medal winners for the Burlington girls team were Jenna Bebow (5th overall for the 11th/12th grade) and Aubryn Boyd (7th overall for the 11th/12th grade).
Union Grove also won the girls meet with a team time of 1:51:31.7, followed by Waterford (1:52:52.5); Burlington (2:02:13.8); Catholic Central (2:03:36.8); Racine Horlick (2:56:28.1).
The members of the 2022 Burlington cross country teams are:

Girls team: 1 Jenna Bebow; 2 Ella Clapp; 3 Joy Heeter; 4 Aubryn Boyd; 5 Ella Turke; 6 Aubry McDermitt ; 7 Ava Fix
The Demons will compete again Sept. 3 at the Waukesha South Blackshirt Challenge.
