The Catholic Central High School boys’ basketball team entered Christmas break by winning a pair of Midwest Classic Conference-South matchups, but head coach Eric Henderson wanted a little more.
“It’s nice to pick up a couple of wins, but we need to get away from playing to our competition and play up to our potential,” Henderson explained. “If not, we’re always going to be playing catch-up.”
Abel Wagner was the lone Hilltopper in double figures against Heritage Christian with a game-high 21 points, with three 3-pointers. Wilker added nine.
On Friday, Catholic Central rallied from a six-point deficit after three quarters to claim a 46-40 win at Greendale Martin Luther.
Spencer Wilker hit five three-pointers and led CCHS with 16 points.
