STATE BASKETBALL: Catholic Central boys in big trouble in second half

Catholic Central's coaches can't think of an easy answer to solve the dynamic McDonell offense, which shot 50 percent and made three triples in the first half Saturday. MDC led, 28-18, at the half and now leads 41-24 with 10 minutes left in the game. (Mike Ramczyk/Standard Press)

MADISON – The Kohl Center has been more than unkind to the Catholic Central Hilltoppers this morning.

Each sign of a promising move to the hoop has been thwarted, most fouls aren’t being called and shots simply aren’t falling.

Catholic Central trails McDonell Central, 34-20, with 14 minutes left in the WIAA Division 5 basketball season.

I need to get back to the game, so here’s a photo of the halftime box score to give you an idea.
