All season, the Waterford High School boys golf team has dominated its Southern Lakes Conference competition. Tuesday was no different as the Wolverine golfers were 35 strokes better than second-place Westosha Central at the SLC Golf Major No. 3 played at Hawk’s View Golf Course in Lake Geneva.
The Wolverine boys carded a 312. Westosha was second with a 347.
All five Wolverine golfers shot scores lower than any other SLC golfer, with none having a score worse than an 80.
Zach Nash and Kyle Pagac both fired five-over 77s, with Andrew Schultz just a stroke back with a 78.
Dakota Maney and Garrett Buri both carded 80s.
For the first time this season, Waterford did not win a tournament it participated in.
The Wolverine boys placed second in the 19-team Geneva National Invite played at Lake Geneva Monday. Verona won the invite, carding a 319 team total, with Waterford just two strokes back at 321.
Maney won medalist honors firing an even-par 72 on the Palmer Course. He carded a three-over-par 39 on the front nine, but was three under par on the back nine.
Nash fired a 79 (40-39), Schultz an 84 (46-38) and Pagac an 86 (47-39).
Buri was the fifth Wolverine to participate and he carded a 92 (45-47).
The Brighton Dale Invite that had been scheduled for Saturday was postponed due to rain. It has been rescheduled for Saturday, May 19.
