Waterford went 0-6-1 in seven matches since beating Kenosha Tremper 2-1 Sept. 26 at home in a non-conference match that coach Rob Blascoe called the Wolverines’ best performance of the season.
Waterford played Tuesday at Badger (13-7-0, 5-3 SLC) in the consolation semifinal of the Southern Lakes Conference Tournament and Thursday at home in a non-conference match against Mukwonago (13-1-3) on Senior Night.
The Wolverines (6-7-2, 4-4 SLC) broke a six-match winless streak and tied West Allis Central 1-1 Oct. 8 in a non-conference match at Frank Lloyd Wright Middle School in West Allis.
Central (0-13-2) scored in the 24th minute of the first half and Waterford trailed 1-0 at halftime.
The Wolverines’ Jonathan Brown scored in the second half, in the 61st minute, off an assist from Alex Wollmer to force the tie.
The Wolverines lost 5-1 Oct. 6 to the Comets at Delavan-Darien in the semifinals of the Southern Lakes Conference Tournament.
Waterford scored first on the Comets. Sam Burazin found the back of the net off an assist from Chris Estrada and the Wolverines led 1-0 before the Comets scored five straight goals.
Gerardo Rodriguez, Jason Cano and Tigrio Huerta scored in the first half and gave the Comets a 3-1 halftime lead. Cano and Huerta each scored in the second half.
The Comets are the defending WIAA Division 3 state champions and are ranked No. 1 in the latest Wisconsin Soccer Coaches Association Division 3 state poll.
Elkhorn beat Badger 2-0 Oct. 6 in the opposite semifinal. Elkhorn (11-4-1, 7-1 SLC) and Delavan-Darien played Tuesday at Delavan-Darien (19-0, 8-0 SLC) for the SLC title. The Elks are four-time defending conference tournament champions, and are playing for their fifth consecutive tournament title.
Waterford plays Kenosha Bradford (5-9-3) in a non-conference match Saturday at Bradford High School.
