There is hardly an off night in the Metro Classic Conference when it comes to girls volleyball.

The Catholic Central Hilltoppers experienced that first-hand last week.

On Tuesday night, the Toppers took to the road against conference foe Racine St. Cat’s, Division 3’s sixth-ranked team.

The Toppers took the first game, but St. Cat’s exerted its dominance the rest of the way in a 18-25, 25-9, 25-14, 25-16 victory.

The loss dropped Catholic Central to 3-3 in the MCC. The team is 7-12 overall.

“We came out strong in game one but then allowed their setter to take control of match,” said coach Mae-Mae Oberhofer.

At Saturday’s Westosha Central Smash, the Toppers finished 1-3 against Division 1 and 2 powers.

The win, however, came against Division 3 stalwart Big Foot, 25-19, 25-22.

Abby Tweet led the way with 19 kills, and Olivia Sobbe added 18. Gould had 42 assists.

Tweet and Sarah Hackbarth each tallied four aces. Tweet added 29 digs, and Monica Litman had 28.
